Inquiring minds will ask what the heck is Warthog Pinacate? Two of our favorite creatures. In Africa, we were charmed by the warthog families who trot across the grass lands with their tasseled tails upright, in size order from largest to smallest. Despite having nasty fangs and bumpy faces, there’s a certain “cuteness” to these creatures. And Pinacate? Spanish for stinkbugs, those shiny black beetles that tilt end up when harassed. They are the only visible creatures that live in the remote areas of the Sonora desert, where the sand dunes reach to 200 feet in height and there’s not a sign of humans for 60 miles. Oh, but that’s a story for another time.
